Q Performance Criteria: Students will do a presentation about a musical style/genre, musician/composer, or music group connected to American popular music. This paper is to be presented in class as an aural/oral presentation in which music will be provided. The objective of this paper is to provide more "in depth" research of American popular music. You may use the following methods to present your paper to the class: 1. Traditional method of writing a 3-5 page paper. In your paper, you must provide music web links for us to link on to. The best method for obtaining a you tube link is to go to share, highlight the URL address, cut the address using key ctrl X, and then pasting it using ctrl C or V. That should appear as a blue address in which our class can directly link on. You may use this method and read your paper via Zoom, and share the music as you present. 2. Power point. Your presentation can be an aural slide presentation with words and music for us to view, or you can orally present the slide presentation to us using your voice, with music to listen to. Or you can use a combination of both, aural/oral presentation. You do not have to provide a paper as your power point will be your paper. 3. Recorded video: you can present your paper aurally/orally using web cam, providing music as well. If you choose this route, you do not have to submit a paper. 4. Recorded "Live" performance: You may choose to present an instrument, sing or both. I have had a few students who have performed for us in the past. You can also record yourself and share. If you choose this method, you do not have to submit a paper. You must cite your work at the end of your paper or power point. If you do a recorded video, you do not need to cite your work. Your aural/oral presentation will be submitted in a discussion designated as such. All presentations need to be submitted by Sunday, March 6, 2022, 11:59 PM. Peer views and responses will take place during the final week of class which will be the week of March 7, 2022. If you have any questions, you may email me. Previous
